Getting Connected Conference
In April 2004 the SLCVS Partnership hosted the first sub-regional staff conference at the Royal Society of Arts in central London. The focus of the day was on highlighting the priority areas of the Partnership's work which lie at the heart of its strategic objectives. Moreover, the day offered staff the opportunity to meet colleagues and counterparts from across the six boroughs to exchange ideas, celebrate differences and share best practice. The agenda comprised of a mixture of workshops, plenary sessions and discussion groups. Workshops focused on Capacity building, Social Enterprise, Workforce Development, IT and the Voluntary Sector and Community Learning. Networking activities included a "Getting Connected" quiz and a market place information exchange forum. CVS chairs who attended the conference and met their counterparts from the sub-region have expressed an interest in meeting again formally in the future. SLCVS Partnership staff were helped by a team of volunteers on the day to assist with registration, stewarding and taking photographs. Feedback from staff and volunteers alike was extremely enthusiastic: |
