Going for Growth Management & LeadershipTarget group: Small and medium size enterprises (SME's), including the voluntary and community sector, across the London south sub-region employing between 4 and 20 individuals. Project start date: July 2005 – September 2007 Aim: To enable growth and facilitate the long term survival of organisations employing 4-20 people in the London South LSC boroughs by improving the management and leadership skills of their managers and encouraging participation in workforce development. Going for Growth is an innovative approach to SME management and will enhance workforce development across the entire London South LSC area. The consortium of business development organisations, sector representatives and training providers will engage 350 organisations employing 4-20 people with a practical solution to a business issue in the form of a management training event into which the assessment, training needs analysis (TNA) and training plan are integrated. Effective signposting of the 450 participants on the training event will ensure appropriate progression routes leading to further learning opportunities. The South London CVS Partnership is participating as the workforce development infrastructure support organisation for the voluntary and community sector. Bromley, Kingston, Merton & Sutton CVS’s will recruit 35 managers from the voluntary and community sector to participate in the project. A half day workshop in each borough will be designed specifically for the voluntary and community sector. Funding: The London South Learning & Skills Council and European Social Fund
