Olympic Legacy consultation events

London Development Agency’s Summer of Consultation

The LDA is currently developing the overall design plans for the Olympic Park and its neighbouring areas for after the Games and wants help in developing these right from the start.  Summer events will mark the beginning of LDA’s on-going 18 month public consultation programme, after which they’ll be looking to work with a range of community and business groups in more detail to continue to feed into the planning of the Legacy Park. Access to Nature - new grant scheme

Access to Nature is a £25 million grant scheme to encourage more people, from all backgrounds, to understand, have better access to, enjoy or get more involved in looking after the natural environment whilst learning new skills and creating new places for people to enjoy.

PRO-ACTIVE South London - Extended Activities

LawWorks for Community Groups project

LawWorks for Community Groups was launched in January 2002 to act as a referral agency matching small community groups, charities and social enterprises who can't afford to pay for legal advice with lawyers who will provide the legal advice for FREE.

Multi-Ethnic Partnerships For Community Change -The British Association of Settlements and Social Action Centres (BASSAC) and the Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG) have published a policy document 'Beyound Equality: Multi Ethnic Partnership for Community Change' the document contains some key findings from the project and proposals for change and improving the environment for effecting better relationships between BME and white led organisations in the VCS.

Reaching Out Project – providing advice and skilled volunteers

Reaching Out provides advice and skilled volunteers to black and minority ethnic, refugee and migrant, rural and faith groups. Through Reaching Out, your organisation can gain new skills and progress its aims more effectively.

How the project works:

You complete a short questionnaire, which helps to identify your needs. REACH provide advice and guidance on your volunteer requirements and find you a REACH volunteer who has the appropriate career skills. CSAS brand new website launched

The Community Safety Advisory Service has launched a new website to support all small and medium sized voluntary organisations that wish to engage in community safety and crime reduction work.

The new website features news and information to support all organisations working within their communities to reduce crime, with the aim it will support others in getting involved in local decision making and in setting up and running thier own crime prevention projects.

National Lottery Awards for All England Re-launch
Awards for All England is an easy to access Lottery grants programme set up to help small groups in local communities.The re-launch will see a widening of the range of funding available to community groups so that applicants can apply for grants from £300 up to £10,000. London CVS Network

The London CVS Network is a platform for Councils for Voluntary Service across London to come together to share skills, expertise, knowledge and experience and to develop actions and policies to strengthen their role in London.

The London Sub-Regional CVS coordinators act as a steering group for the London Network. Discussion topics are determined by the CVS Chief Officers

The SLCVS Partnership provides some administrative support for the London CVS Network to meet four times a year.
